Dethroned Mexican champion Edgar Sosa on Monday accused Filipino Rodel Mayol of fighting dirty in their World Boxing Council (WBC) light flyweight bout and wants the result of their title fight be ruled as a no-contest.
Sosa, who officially lost the crown via 2nd round technical knockout to Mayol Sunday (Manila time) in Mexico, claimed that he got hit intentionally on the cheekbone by the Filipino’s forehead that made the Mexican shaky the rest of the way.
“I was really out on my feet and I couldn’t breathe. I had no time to recuperate,” Sosa told the Mexican press immediately after the fight. Read more of this post on Mayol vs Sosa here.
